My career journey has leveraged a foundation of Industrial Design discipline to inform consultative selling, leading teams, and directing design development. After 33 years in retail environment, fixture, display and exhibit industries, I have found there are multiple keys to success:


• Listening to the client to interpret needs,

• Engaging the client along the way as part of design development process, and

• Leveraging a collaborative process to enlist all stakeholders and downstream partners in the solution


My greatest contribution to the design process is strategic ideation. I visualize the outcome and enlist the right talent tool kit to collaborate effectively and achieve success. Through storytelling, I can communicate the process to the client in a way that they can visualize the outcome.

Purpose: To create a strategic proposal in the creation of an online gift specialty store that informed by a specific female target and specific needs that intercept everyday life. This proposal to visualize this first introduction on-line with a migration to brick and mortar destination.


Outcome: Allowing target customer needs to inform product categories and those categories to inform a store layout and aesthetic. Strategic visualization to demonstrate this migration.


Creating retail destinations

Designing a successful retail store design environment requires a complex scope spanning conceptual ideation, design development, and market launch.

HMK Boutique Speciality Store

Purpose: Create a specialty experience through concierge services and curated products.


Objective: Provide in-house personalization of specialty gifts, apparel, cards, and stationary.


Outcome: Reinventing the way the consumer engages in gift and card selection.

Making a statement at trade shows

Keeping your company front and center by showcasing brand relevance strengthens existing relationships and attracts new business opportunities.

Hallmark Permanent Showroom

Purpose: Create a permanent showroom for Hallmark in the Atlanta Merchandise Mart.


Objective: Offer a venue with a revolving story that highlights the benefits of becoming a Hallmark retailer.


Outcome: Growing the network of retail outlets for Hallmark through departments and branded product.
